About Margot

In what year did you begin working in the real estate industry as a REALTOR®?

Why do you like working in the real estate industry?
I have found the perfect blend of hobby and talents in this career. Whether helping people find their dream home or selling their first home. I enjoy what I do and try to make it as enjoyable and stress-free as possible.

In what year did you become affiliated with Semonin Realtors®?

Why do you choose to affiliate your business with Semonin?
Lead. Teach. Serve. For over 100 years Semonin has lead the way in the Louisville and Southern Indiana market. Our emphasis on teaching relentlessly and serving passionately is why we lead differently.

What sets you apart from other REALTORS®? What are your greatest strengths as a real estate agent?
I'm a practical but artsy realtor who has moved several times over the last few years. So, I know first hand the stresses, obstacles, and issues that can arise as you go through the buying and selling process.

Are you involved in any trade/civic or community organizations? If yes, please explain.
I am a Trinity High School Emerald Sponsor and actively involved in Trinity's Celebration. I also serve with the American Lung Association Annual Gala Board. And, with any other free time, I serve as a Co-leader for my daughters Girl Scout Troop.

Tell us about your immediate family. Who are they? Do you enjoy spending time together? If so, what do you do together?
My husband John (Chicago native) and I have been married Since October, 2000. We have two sons and one daughter. Our sons are at Trinity High School and play Rugby and Ice Hockey. Our daughter is a singer in choir and musical theater. Juggling a full-time career and 3 teenagers is chaotic but I wouldn't trade it for the world!

What do you enjoy doing in your free time? Why do you enjoy this?
I have founded, a community dedicated to the awareness, appreciation and stewardship of Louisville's Mid-century and Modern architecture and design.

Finish this sentence: Most people don't know this about me, but I ...
Am the mother of a child cancer survivor. Our daughter was diagnosed with Nephroblastoma (Wilms' Tumor) at 2 1/2 years old. She is now cancer free! Her diagnosis and treatment brought out family even closer and has taught us to give thanks everyday for our blessings.

Do you have a motto/words to live by? If yes, what?
Lead. Teach. Serve.

Share something distinctive about yourself!
I am a Navy brat! I've lived all over the world from Europe to Japan. I graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Arts. I studied a Masters of Fine Arts with a focus in Black & White photography at the University of Iowa before becoming a mother in 2002.
